Papa Leo's is a local business started and run by a local guy that serves really good local food. The Main Street location has been around long enough that everyone should have eaten there at least once. There used to be a lunch buffet at Papa Leo's that was out of this world, but they no longer do it. I would imagine expenses got in the way. But that buffet was my introduction to Papa Leo's and we have been going back ever since.

Let's Eat! - Reid's Drive-In
Reid's Drive-in is one of those places that people in Lockport expect to be open every summer and offer the same kind of foods year after year. The menu at Reid's has not changed a whole lot over the years, which no one seems to mind. There is a location near Buffalo, but Reid's will always be a Lockport thing. There is even a Reid's food truck that brings everything to those very small parts of Lockport that may have not experienced Reid's just yet.

Let's Eat! - Wagner's Restaurant
Wagner's Restaurant is one of those places that you rarely hear people talking about, until the lists of the best restaurants in Lockport start popping up. If you have never been to Wagner's, don't feel bad. It is another one of those well-kept Lockport secrets. But if you are looking for a place to go where everything on the menu is worth the price, then it is time to get to Wagner's.

Let's Eat! - Sunny's Family Restaurant
I have lived in Lockport my entire life so far, and the one constant thing I remember for all of those years is Sunny's Family Restaurant. While Transit Road seems to constantly change around it, Sunny's has remained exactly the same. That is a testament to how good everything from the food to the service is in this small town restaurant that has seen nothing but stability over the years, while the big names around it come and go.

Let's Eat! - Molinaro's Ristorante
Molinaro's Ristorante is one of those places that kind of snuck up on me and then became a part of our family routine. I remember having lunch with my mom at Molinaro's when it was in a house, and then taking the wife to the actual restaurant years later. A pizza place that also has a bakery is a dangerous combination for anyone afraid of excess. What makes it worse is that both sides of Molinaro's are usually the best there is in the city.

Let's Eat! - Sub Delicious
I don't allow the opinions of others to sway my reviews, because I don't feel that is fair to the restaurants. When I write my opinion, it is my opinion. I say this because Sub Delicious has kind of a polarizing reputation in Lockport. People seem to either love or hate Sub Delicious, but I am able to find a happy medium that comes from years of experience with eating their food.

Let's Eat! - Wide Waters Drive-In
It is impossible to talk about Lockport restaurants and not talk about Wide Waters. It has been in business for as long as I can remember, but it has had some new owners in recent years. The new owners have added a lot to a place that people already loved, and now Wide Waters is becoming a gathering place for the community with its concert series. What about the food? You do not stay in business as a restaurant in Lockport without some awesome food.

Let's Eat! - Cammarata's Restaurant
Cammarata's Restaurant is one of those places that many people in Lockport have gone to on a regular basis, but it still remains one of Lockport's best kept secrets. I think one of the reasons more people don't go to Cammarata's is because it looks like an expensive place to eat. If you do not give Cammarata's a try at least once, then you are denying yourself a dining experience that is truly unique to Lockport.

Let's Eat! - One-Eyed Jacks
It had been a while since I had been to One-Eyed Jacks, but I used to go fairly frequently. I was reacquainted with this restaurant about two weeks ago and I started to kick myself for ever taking it off my regular rotation. One-Eyed Jacks has been in the Lockport area for a long time, and only one visit there will tell you why it has remained popular all of these years.

Let's Eat! - Village Eatery
The Village Eatery is a Lockport icon that has been around about as long as I can remember. It is the default place to go for Friday fish fry and a handmade pizza. But does this long-standing restaurant earn its reputation, or is it all smoke and mirrors? As a life-long Lockportian, I have been to the Village Eatery more times than I can count, and I can tell you that it has a reputation that has been earned through hard work.

Let's Eat! - Carson's Deli and Bakery
You know that a restaurant is successful when it is a mile or two out of the center of the city and it is so busy during lunch and dinner that it takes time to get served. Carson's spent years building its reputation for excellent food, and now people literally come from miles around to enjoy a lunch or dinner there. Carson's has even started serving breakfast as well. The truth is that Carson's is well worth the drive.

Let's Eat! - The Penalty Box
(EDITOR'S NOTE: Craig and I have wanted a food review column for a while, but our options were limited with our small budget. My wife and I go out into the city at least once a week, so I decided to be the food critic guy. This will be a recurring column every Friday. Enjoy!)
